Women's Self-Defense Instructors
Eric is a practitioner of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and an energetic physical education teacher who has been very active in teaching self-defense to high school -aged students. "I think in this day and age it’s very important for women to 'arm' themselves with this important information. I want to give them the tools to be able to defend themselves in a dangerous situation. "I try to teach women the tools that they need to feel safe and secure in a dangerous situation. I feel that through repetition they can master the techniques and feel confident performing them. I want the students to feel comfortable in an awkward situation, like if an attacker is in the mount position. The key I think is to put the students in these situations enough where the technique is not an action, but a reaction. "I have researched a lot of women’s self-defense courses and I feel that the Rape Escape program is the most practical program out there. I have taught these techniques to women and all of them say that they like the theory behind all of the techniques. This program really shows women how to use their larger, stronger muscles to attack an man’s more vulnerable points. "If more and more women are taking the Rape Escape course, then it sends a message to the attackers that women are no longer going to submit anymore, they are going fight back!" Contact info E-mail:

"In a stranger-rape situation, if he allows you to see his face, you get his name, or you can somehow otherwise identify your attacker, and he knows it, it’s all the more important to get away from him, even if he has a knife and you are risking injury. Because unless he’s quite inexperienced, he’s likely to kill you to leave no witnesses." Program a Long Time Coming "The concept of enlightening women to 'fight like girls' is a long time coming. We should have been doing this years ago. The female body is built differently and can be used effectively against a male attacker if trained properly. Defend University and the Rape Escape program have proven again and again that the Fight Like a Girl program is successful, easy to learn and easy to deliver."
