Women's Self-Defense Instructors
Instructor 3 Dan Lundy has a passion for teaching women’s self-defense
and he wants to share it with as many women as possible. “Women of every age, size, shape and fitness level can effectively defend themselves against a larger, stronger attacker if they know the proper techniques and have the right training,” he says. Dan is a Senior Instructor for the Women’s Empowerment Series and is also an AWSDA Certified Rape Prevention Instructor. He and his wife teach their “Protect Yourself” curriculum and you can see their website at www.protectys.com. "In a stranger-rape situation, if he allows you to see his face, you get his name, or you can somehow otherwise identify your attacker, and he knows it, it’s all the more important to get away from him, even if he has a knife and you are risking injury. Because unless he’s quite inexperienced, he’s likely to kill you to leave no witnesses." Program a Long Time Coming "The concept of enlightening women to 'fight like girls' is a long time coming. We should have been doing this years ago. The female body is built differently and can be used effectively against a male attacker if trained properly. Defend University and the Rape Escape program have proven again and again that the Fight Like a Girl program is successful, easy to learn and easy to deliver."
