"I want to educate, enable and empower women with practical, realistic strategies and techniques. If I can lift them up, build their confidence and help them create a mental and physical safety awareness, hopefully they will never become a crime statistic or hear themselves say “I Never Thought It Would Happen to Me." "I want to bring out that “inner warrior” and teach women how to be “tough targets. I want to show women that you don’t have to be a martial arts expert, or a man, to learn the skills and gain the confidence to effectively protect yourself," she says. "I want easy to remember, but powerful techniques that will make the women say “WOW” I NEVER THOUGHT I COULD DO THAT!” You can contact Retta at: Training2besafe@att.netx (delete the 'x' before sending) Or you can visit her Web site for more information at: www.training2besafe.com | What do you mean "Fight like a Girl"?
"In a stranger-rape situation, if he allows you to see his face, you get his name, or you can somehow otherwise identify your attacker, and he knows it, it’s all the more important to get away from him, even if he has a knife and you are risking injury. Because unless he’s quite inexperienced, he’s likely to kill you to leave no witnesses." Program a Long Time Coming "The concept of enlightening women to 'fight like girls' is a long time coming. We should have been doing this years ago. The female body is built differently and can be used effectively against a male attacker if trained properly. Defend University and the Rape Escape program have proven again and again that the Fight Like a Girl program is successful, easy to learn and easy to deliver."
